I think the only ones who have/will cross the line and I would object to are the ones that will end up having restraining orders against them. Other than that everyone should feel free to be a fan in what ever matter they see fit for themselves. We can only be accountable for our own actions and how other people decide to "
fan"
is up to them.

I did not get that impression from anything I've read here and of course there is nothing wrong with waiting for them after a gig. It was public knowledge that they were doing meet and greets and without fans there would be no point to greet and no one to meet.

hecks no Meg Smile I have no regrets waiting to meet them. Especially since they haven't always done it. They didn't do it for the smaller Largo shows. But they did do it for the tour shows.
I love that I waited Smile

Second, this thread is really great. I actually heard of Bret and Jemaine back in 05 or so. In those days, if you typed "
Flight of the Conchords"
into YouTube, all you got was the HBO One Night Stand special. Flash forward to last summer, and people that I thought never even shared my sense of humor or taste, were telling me about Flight of Conchords. I will admit, I got a little territorial, only because they felt like my discovery. (I actually wrote an article about this very subject. Not sure if I've ever posted it here. If I haven't, I certainly will.) But, I don't claim any ownership over them at all.

I can't imagine what it's like for them. It has to be intense to have such an overwhelming overnight success. I will say, that I have loved coming on the board and chatting with all of you. You guys, do not overwhelm me. But I have pulled back quite a bit. When I found myself wondering whether or not I would get a birthday comment on Myspace from Jemaine, I decided I was this close to needing an intervention.

I adore the guys. I am so glad that I got to meet them after two shows this past summer. Would I do it again in a heartbeat? Yes. Would I be sad if they had just left afterward and not taken a photo? Yes. I can admit that. However, I never want to test their boundaries. The guys are unique, in that their boundaries are pretty easy to break through, and they're great sports. I just know that reading Myspace depresses me too now. It really and truly does.

But you folks here...you make me insanely happy.

And also, Bret and Jemaine's ladies are incredibly lucky. We all know that. I can admit to being jealous, but would never say anything terrible about them. If Bret and Jemaine picked them, they must be winners. I'd probably have a girl crush if I met them. I know I can't have one of them...but how about cloning? Right?

You're all gems! And this was a lot I just typed. And I am sooooo sleepy right now... ;

I must've missed this thread when I first joined. But I think it's an important discussion to have so we don't all end up like Mel, hiding out in front of their apartment building just to scare them back into it again.

I frequently try to check myself so I don't end up that way. I know that I say some things (jokingly of course) that may come off as totally insane and/or creepy, but I don't mean them. As for the MySpace comments, I've never sent one. I'm afraid of what I might say and then immediately have to apologise for. Although I did leave a 3-day-late comment wishing Jemaine a happy birthday.

If I ever get to see them live, I will go to the meet and greet because I want to see them in person. I want to experience what a lot of you guys have had the opportunity to. I just hope I have someone else there to keep me from crossing into "
crazy fangirl"
mode. But I don't know... I mentioned before that I don't do well around people I admire. I get nervous and run my words together, can't meet anybody's eyes, and forget what my sentance started as and finish it in a completely different way. So even if I do try to handle myself well I could still end up seeming like an escaped mental patient.

Bitchy comments about girlfriends/wives/fiancees are NOT cool. Not if you mean them. But the words "
Ugh... Lucky bitch."
have come out of my mouth. I will admit to that. But it's not like I'd ever do anything to try and break up a relationship... I don't say that with any kind of seriousness.

I think the best you can do is keep yourself contained when it comes to being a fangirl. Or at least don't vocalise your craziness. They don't need any more weird girls sending them messages or going to their shows and screaming "
TAKE IT OFF!!!"
or anything like that.
