HBO's Flight of the Conchords has to be one of my favorite new shows. Each episode contains several spoof songs, and are always hilarious. The season just ended, but the songs are living on in my head. Recently I couldn't get the song, "
I'm Not Cryin'"
out of my head. Especially the line where Brett says, "
I'm making a lasagna... for one."


All week long my thoughts have been plagued with individual lasagnas. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it out of my head. Over and over and over again, "
I'm making a lasagna..."
I think the only way I'll be able to get this song out of my head is to make myself a lasagna for one.

Lasagna For One
Inspired by Flight of the Conchords - From Razzle Dazzle

Editor's Note: This recipe is really straightforward and calls for canned spaghetti sauce. I imagine that's how Jemaine and Bret would make it, although Bret would definitely add additional chopped onions to his.

3 ounces lasagna noodles
dash of oregano
1 - 8 ounce can or 1 cup of spaghetti sauce with meat
1/2 cup cottage cheese
3 ounces sliced mozzarella cheese
dash of salt
dash of pepper

1. Cook noodles according to package directions.
2. Mix in small bowl, oregano, salt and pepper with spaghetti sauce.
3. Alternate layers of noodles, cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese and sauce in small baking pan.
4. Bake at 375F for 30 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

haha...aww that's sad...It's probably a fake. I bet it's a lasagna for two recipe but they cut the ingredients in half lol

actually, they song was playing in the forefront when Chuck went back to see his girlfriend (a CIA agent) and she was working at this new hip Smoothy (i think) place. (originally she was working at like a Weinerschnitzel place and they changed that place into it.) It was all kind of modern but a little retro and Chuck is in love with her but they are not really together. Then, when they started talking the rest of the song went to the background as if it was on in the restaurant's speakers. I got the feeling they were using the song because it was new and fresh and because their meet-up was happy since the show was starting up again!

actually, after I heard the song start playing...I couldn't watch the show!!!! ha ha all i could think was how cool it was that this song was in there and couldn't wait to tell you guys. so I actually heard nothing the two said!

oh...and Chuck is this guy that works at the Buy More (like Best Buy) as one of the Nerd Heard (like Geek Squad). and his old college friend worked as a CIA agent and sent him this copy of a file from the government that had all of their gov't secrets...after Chuck opened the file it flashed all of the secrets onto his computer and he watched it all night. He blacked out and when he woke up all the gov't info was in his head. The file was called an 'intercept' and that was destroyed...now Chuck is the intercept and this blonde CIA agent and another gov't guy are working under cover around him to protect him. Chuck keeps getting kidnapped and such so they have to protect him because he has all of these secrets in his head. He's kind of a quirky sweet nerdy guy that wants to have a life but can't because he can't do anything productive with all of these secrets in his head. Basically what happens is like if he sees someone that the gov't was seeking after then all of the information about that person flashes in his head and he is able to tell the agents who that person is so they can catch them. Sometimes this happens if he sees a symbol or even an object that the gov't might have programmed about in the intersect.

OMG! i am a fricken nerd for this show!

I work with a hoard of guys just like this Chuck. Nerdy guys are adorable.


But I'm glad the show used the song...can you say royalties?
