Actor Jon Hamm has praised Kiwi comedy musical duo Flight of the Conchords as “virtuoso-level musicians that also just happen to be really, really funny”.

In an interview with The AV Club, who label the Mad Men star most handsome man in the world, the ‘Business Time’ hitmakers were the second artists played when shuffle was hit on his iPod.

“This is a perfect combination [of music and comedy],” says Hamm.

“I actually saw their HBO special before they had a show and made a friend of mine come over and watch it with me. I was like, ‘These guys are super funny’.

“And they reminded me a lot of Tenacious D, in way, because they’re crazy-good musicians. They’re virtuoso-level musicians that also just happen to be really, really funny. So that was a cool discovery.”

The Conchords recently completed a hugely successful tour of New Zealand and are currently performing in Australia.

Other tracks that Hamm’s iPod shuffle played include Jay-Z’s ‘What More Can I Say’, Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Don’t Stop’, Sinead O’Connor’s ‘Troy’, Portishead’s ‘Biscuit’, Iron &
Wine’s ‘Woman King’, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ ‘I Put A Spell On You’ and comedy from Patton Oswalt and Jimmy Pardo.

Several times while reading the book I thought about Bret and Jemaine and how they are similar to Steve Jobs in the sense that they all think (thought) very much outside the box and how their creativity is so infectious, so to actually see FOTC mentioned in the book makes me beyond happy! :;
