There is a song that plays in the background of most episodes in the first season. Its acoustic and doesn't have any words and sounds like it could be a cover of a pop song from the 80s. Its driving me mad that I can't figure it out. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Do you mean the song that's playing when all the "
montages"
happen, like when Bret, Sally and Jemaine go on their dates? I think they wrote all the background music for the show. It's Bret singing all the "
Do do do"
parts.

Its used in the montage after Jermaine comes home from jail and Bret is trying to be friends with him again and brings him tea on the bed. If that helps.

Yes. I like that song very much. There might be a mandolin in there and there's a do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do to it as well.

I know what you're talking about, but never thought it sounded familiar...I wouldn't put it past them, though! After all, most of their songs are based on/parodies of other songs, so maybe this was based on something else.

[image] I just used Shazam to try to figure it out. It's an iPhone app that is supposed to be able to identify music. No luck for me... [image]

You can always ask Jemaine. He's usually really good about answering serious questions about their music and/or the show.

I once messaged him to ask how many sandwiches were thrown at his face during filming of that scene in Yoko, but he didn't answer. Maybe that question wasn't serious enough. [image]

He maintains the FOTC myspace page, so he sometimes answers messages and comments there. Less often now than he used to, but sometimes it still happens. Smile

Welcome to the board, by the way! Smile

A few people here have gotten comments or messages from him. A few have even received comments or messages from Bret but that is much more rare. Smile

Yis, actually. Yis.
At least last summer anyway. He probably gets a ton more messages and comments now, so I don't know the odds. But, if you catch his attention...
