I've been wanting to analyze Bus Driver's Song if it hasn't been done so already.

Music theory makes me horny is one of my favorite things! I really miss it...haven't had a theory class in a couple years. Don't know why I haven't tried analyzing things for fun!

I was holding off on this until the episode tonight because I expected Carol Brown to shoot straight to the top. But.

A choir consisting of actual girls instead of Bret?

So, my favorites are as follows:

Hurt Feelings (Reprise) - Bret's voice is beautiful, I loved the obvious Magnolia reference, the Bret/Kristen lover in me got to squee over their brief duet, and Doug & Greg got to play (I love them!). A+ all around.

Friends - I've been listening to it a lot over the last week and I love it more every time. I didn't think I'd like it all that much based on the preview and the little HBO Buzz clip, but it's delightful.

Prostitute - Do you have any other skills...LIKE TYPING?

I'm with you on this one. Nothing against having some biological ladies sing the choir part, but why couldn't Bret be singing along with them?

recording of this song since last summer, I was PISSED to find out that Bret was no longer the choir. Or, like you said, at least part of the choir. Especially since one of those ex-girlfriends was a man.

I still love Ex-Girlfriends but not as much as I thought I would after hearing the final version. I admit I was pretty disappointed Bret wasn't at least part of the choir too. It's the first comment I made about the video.

I seriously thought that the scene of Bret leaving a message pretending to be Keitha and dumping Jemaine was a set up for the Carol Brown video where we'd find out that Bret was the one sabotaging all of Jemaine's relationships (and why he was the one singing for all of Jemaine's ex-girlfriends).

I LOVED the Dick song. I have a feeling I'm going to play the hell out of it while I clean my house this week.

SAM! You talk about it as much as you want. I'm afraid if you keep it inside it might be unhealthy.

I thought the same thing though about Carol Brown and what could have been the lead in. Did Bret even sing at all in this version? I don't know until I watch it again because well, I was a little preoccupied.

I think I'll probably listen to Too Many Dicks on repeat for way too many days in row. I really can't pick my favourite songs now. I LOVE all of them except for Murray's song in the first ep. Still not feelin' it and believe it or not, this version of Angels makes it my 2nd least favourite song this season. I Angels on Folk The World.

Too Many Dicks Ex-Girlfriends

My verdict on this episodes songs in a nutshell...

I just didn't think it translated well on the show, a real low point for me

Too Many Dicks made me very very happy though

I've always thought Carol Brown/Ex-Girlfriends was sweet, but it's never been one of my favorites.

And I was bothered by the Bretlessness of it. I actually skipped through it the second time I watched the episode.


Until this episode, I never realized that my love for the tv show is actually love for Bret and Murray (and, increasingly, Dave).


It's different for the live show though. I just prefer Jemaine-Jemaine to tv-Jemaine.
