The Boys and their toys - FOTC's instruments

I think, we know that the Conchords wouldn't be the same if they didn't have the instruments they use to create their wonderful music.
My intention is not to compete with these threads: [url=http:

So here's the thread dedicated to all other instruments, toy and non-toy, "
serious"
ones that our Boys use to amuse themselves and then us.

God, I love that photo waaay too much. It's like "
hey, Itzel. We heard you used to be in band in high school, and as such are obsessed with band and orchestra instruments. We think you'll find this incredibly hot."
Oooh, band jackets!
Aaah, a Sousaphoooone!
Eeee, a snare and a bass drummm!
Woooooooah, a glockenspiel!!
*dies of band nerd-induced overdose*

Let's start with pianos. We all know the story of the red one and how it was replaced with the white one, but not for too long. Sheila .
[/align:hobat6qu]
but there are evidents that there were more toy pianos in the Conchords' history:

[/align:hobat6qu]
...as well as toy guitars .

Jemaine likes playing the bass guitar:
the type of this one is
[/align:o2n4e7tk]
the acoustic bass guitar is ok too
[/align:o2n4e7tk]
Bret prefers electric guitars:
[/align:o2n4e7tk]
the colour doesn't matter as long as it's white or red:

Bret is faithful to Yamaha products

[/align:5014hhxb]
I think it's the same guitar in both pictures.
EDIT: 1974 Yamaha FG 200
Thank you, Sarah, for pointing me into the right direction :#glomp#:

Jemaine can't leave his classical guitar La Patrie Motif:

[/align:2ewxttd4]
even though it looses the polish

[/align:2ewxttd4]
but I've read at the that it "
will actually become better sounding with playing over time."
How very true about its owner :#drool#: ...

Here are other Jemaine's and Bret's guitars:
Jem's (?)
[/align:qewa07f5]
(...yes, and bongos)
[/align:qewa07f5]
I love the colour of the wood of these guitars:
Bret's
and Jemaine's
I haven't seen this guitar live:
Bret likes small guitars too?

This instrument may be a Greek one called bouzouki, according to gezyka's .

I haven't finished . But if you have Bret with his ukulele, then go ahead. I'd have to look for it little longer. He's not my specialty ;

in Polish 'cymbał
ki' (read: tzimbawky)

I should have used a better cap, but I want to show that they've been using
the same toys for many years

Can I reserve the detailed post on the toy sax please?

When I get a minute to research it thoroughly and create a post with pics, mp3s and gifs. ;

(If you want to do it, that's fine. )

Go ahead!!! I've just pushed the wheel
I'm also curious about the thing at the very beginning of this video
[flash=350,287:zqcwqlmu]https://www.youtube.com/v/MTyRmU_4vnk&hl=en&fs=1[/flash:zqcwqlmu]
and wondering what they used during "
Too many dicks..."
live to beat the rhythm (and also during the stripping ).
I'm not a musician!!!

I investigated this also! I am a musician, but didn't know what it was (though I'm only classical). *looking for the post*emira wrote:I'm also curious about the thing at the very beginning of this video

(closer view , but just a short clip)
Fun little tidbit: he played it once during the whole tour (I think) and it was at the Greek theatre in LA. If it is a bouzouki, that was pretty cheeky of him, eh? :;

Thank you, gezyka! I love information like this :#love3#: .
But why did he leave it on the stage during the Tampa show?

They made set lists for shows, but didn't stick to them...and they took requests, so maybe he just had it on stage just in case? Or maybe they were going to play it, but didn't.emira wrote:Thank you, gezyka! I love information like this .

Also, they had TWO DG20s on stage at the shows I went to. I don't remember if this was the case for all the shows, but I don't think they used either at any.
