We gather here today to select and talk about everyone's least liked episode. Or episodes.
I understand some of you here may view this thread as a bit controversial. However, keep in mind, it doesn't have to be. You don't have to completely slam the episode if you don't wish to. You can simply talk about what you DID like about the episode (Boom Queen ;
)) if you wish.
If you wish to hate on said episode, remember, keep it peaceful and try to be as constructive as possible with your criticism.
Don't be afraid to be honest here, people. Keep it real, yo. And remember...
Everyone has their own opinion and a lot of people will love the episode you severely dislike. Keep the peace, maaan. (just imagine a hippy or pot smoking smilie here)
(hmm, this'll do.)
As for me, I have expressed my feelings on my least favorite episodes on the board and on the shout box. However, like probably many of you, I don't really want to choose and discuss an episode until I've seen season two in it's entirety.
As of now though, my least faves:
(I made the poll so you can choose up to 1-5 episodes if you so wish)
-Love is a Weapon of Choice " title=">
" border="0"/>
-The Third Conchord
-A Good Opportunity :
-The Actor (it has significantly grown on me though)
I will go into them more in a few weeks, once the final episode has aired.

I have no problems with this and will keep this thread open as long as there is absolutely no "
slamming/hating"
.
Constructive criticism is a good thing and it is possible to dislike something without being disrespectful.
I'll be carefully monitoring this thread and will edit/delete anything that is disrespectful and if it gets out of hand the thread will be locked.
The message board has always been a place for people to speak their minds and be themselves and we never want that to change, but we have also worked really hard to keep the board positive and we will continue to do what we can to keep it that way.

Ditto. The only good things about it are the "
Frodo"
song, Murray's freakout when he finds out he's been tricked and John Turturro.

The only Flight of the Conchords Episodes I truly dislike are Prime Minister and A Good Opportunity.
The Actor is my least favorite episode of season one, but there's still a lot that I liked about it. I can't say that I truly dislike any of the season one episodes.
It's one of my favorites.
So is Love is a Weapon of Choice.

I personally love 'The Actor', it's so stressful in a hilarious hilarious way.
'yeah, but - lunchboxes!!!'
I haven't got a least favourite, I've been through them all, I've considered every one but nah, I haven't got one.

Me too. It's up there with my favorite episodes. After my first viewing I didn't really like it (apart from the angry dancing, of course). I think because I didn't want that to be the last episode ever. There was no closure! Mel wasn't there fan anymore?? Upon repeat viewings it quickly became a favorite. It's probably the episode I watch the most -- along with New Fans and Yoko.
Least favorite is probably The Actor and A Good Opportunity. The Actor had some classic scenes though. A Good Opportunity? meh... I did like their discussion about weaving and women's rights though.

I voted for Sally. I realize that almost every pilot for every TV show has differences from the rest of the series, but Sally just just feels off to me.
Normally I like the cyclical arguments and conversations between Bret and Jemaine, but they did it too many times in this episode and the conversations went on for too long.
The tone of the show is also different. It feels more like a homemade show you would see on youtube or something, rather than a professionally made program for a major network (I know they didn't have much money, but still). Also, it was missing the whimsy that later episodes have (the hair helmet stuff just fell flat to me).
My favorite part of the episode is the video for The Most Beautiful Girl In the Room. It's a great song, and I like how it is integrated into the show. I love I'm Not Crying as a song, but disliked the video.
Is it too shallow to admit that another major reason I don't like this episode is because of how the guys look in it? They are disgustingly sweaty the entire time, and I hate when Bret shaves his neck.
It's definitely the episode I've watched the least number of times, and when introducing the show to friends I never start with this one.

I loved the "
I'm Not Crying"
video. I think that was the exact moment when I realized I loved the show. I was hysterical throughout the whole raining/fence scene. It reminded me so much of one of those horrible 80s videos.
Yes, I agree. They did look different -- very sweaty indeed. That may be one of the reasons it took me so long to realize I was in love with Bret.

It was summer when they were filming the pilot, I think, so the heat and humidity was way up--you can tell because Bret and Jemaine's hair was kind of going crazy because of it. " title="" border="0"/>
And I think when they shot the interior apartment scenes, the crew had them boarded off so the room got really hot. . dunno why they did this. Poor boys.

This was my defining moment too. I loved the first episode on my first watch so much all the way through, but...
The fence moment was when my complete love of the Conchords HBO show kicked in. I've never looked back.
Seeing the HBO show was not my first experience of the Conchords, but that moment was when I totally fell in love with the show.

You're welcome. I was thinking much the same thing when I wrote this post. Glad you started it.
I'll cross-post my post over to that thread - and I'll add my other first Conchord experiences there soon as well.

I chose "
the Third Conchord"
I dunno...something about that one that just doesn't do it for me. I have never seen Todd Barry's stand up, but I just felt he didn't fit. actually, i think having him in it was a little bit of a turn off for me. I know, I know that Bret's angry dance is in there. and that's the best part " title="" border="0"/>

I love Todd. He's such an appalling character.
I love when he's flirting with Mel, when he says 'the PUSSSAAAYYYY because its so so horrendous and my ultimate favourite Todd moment is when he says 'stop talking' to Demetri.
I don't know why but I just find that absolutely hilarious

just thought i'd add, i love the tone of "

. i always introduce new people to fotc with the pilot. i find it absolutely amazing.
"
she's thinking, 'this is a nice situation then ugh, who turned on the light?'"
makes em roll every time. and they're hooked.
