Working Title: Flighty Odyssey

Participators, please capture anything you can in your lives as being flighties between now and august.

Don't have a video camera?
I will also be compiling journal entries, illustrations, whatever it takes for you to express yourselves as flighties. Even voice recordings will work!

Questions to ask yourselves, literally through interview or just to keep in mind when collecting memories:

*Name, age, location, occupation
*What was the moment that made you a fan?
*favorite conchord? why?
*tv show, radio show, or live? why? if you like all, what aspects?
*what does the music and comedy of fotc do for you in life?
*personal definition of "
flighty"
?
*how do you show your love?

Also, think about FotC in everyday life...funny reminders and so on.

Here we go again...

Its been more of a "
haha"
idea, you know, a self contained silly daydream to make a documentary on being a fan. Being part of this very much alive fanbase, I naturally thought about capturing what it is that gets us going. Yeah, it was just a passing day dream. But now, ever since my heart was broken by rejection from the film program, I thought "
Why the hell not? I've got nothing to lose."


So, my dear flighties. I wish to create the Flighty Odyssey Documentary with you all. Since I cannot be everywhere you guys are, it is up to you to capture your moments, your lives, your reasons for loving Bret and Jemaine.

Anyone who wants to participate, please PM me ASAP. Also, if you are going to a show, if at all possible, record as much as your experiences as possible. Not necessarily recording the performance, but of you! You guys are the stars! Dinner before the show, waiting in line (avoiding security guards of course), preparing before the show.

This is supposed to be fun, so no stressing allowed. Thats my job ;
)

All you really need to participate is:

Video Camera and/or Web cam
Yourselves!

No filming experience is required! If I get a response, I'll be posting some filming tips.

Aww, this makes me wish I had a freakin video camera! I would love to participate in this cos I have no life right now.

I think I'm up for this! Will it just be for our enjoyment or will this be passed onto the guys at some point? I need to know for erm...self-censorship reasons

Oh, I am SO up for this!!! I'll take my video camera to the L.A. show! I think there are about ten of us going? It'll be great!

I had a PM about a time line of this project. I want to be completely done with it by the end of the year. Gives us plenty of time. Summer will be where principle photography will occur amongst yourselves. Fall I wish to receive all footage to edit. Depending on participation, this thing could be 10 minutes to an hour long feature. Heck, we could make a series out of it if we want.

As far as reaching the guys... I don't know at this point. I'm sure it will somehow. This isn't made specifically for them to see, it is made just to provide an insider view that many people really don't see and/or understand.

I am highly against self censoring. You should be free to be yourself, and if you think you have to self censor yourself, well, make that a part of your fan journey. God knows one of the most interesting things about being a fan is the conflict of what it is to be a fan. How far do you go? How does this contradict your goal as a fan?

Pretty deep stuff, haha, if you want to go there.

I went there just before meeting them at Amoeba...I had a fan epiphany that made me so guilty and nervous seconds away from saying "
Hello Bret!"


Bottom line: be yourself, no matter what. Besides, there will be editing involved.

I'm sure there will be lots of footage once we get back from Denver/SLC.

I know that Nikki has plans to film if we meet the guys. I can definitely do some filming while we're waiting outside of Red Rocks since that could end up being an all day thing.

Either way, there will be much documentation of this trip.

Awesome! If anything, that will probably what the documentary will be about. The final climax being the handing off of the quilts. Cut in between, all of our stories.

I wish I would've thought to take some video from my trek to my show - it was a 4 hour drive each way. Lots of time to take some dramatic driving confessional footage ;

Awesome idea Roxy! One question. I don't have a video camera right now but I am planning on getting one soon. Is there a time limit right now as to when I say present or not present? I know you want footage by the end on the year.

I don't have a video camera or webcam right now, but I will probably get getting a digital camera that shoots vid. And soon.

I have some video on my camera that is proving to be a huge pain in the you know what to upload. It's from the 4/28 show. I'd love to participate in this if I can.

There is no official roll call at the moment, and no deadline for one either. The more lax this project is, the more your footage will be natural. Too many stresses will not be so fun.

So basically, if someone wants to contribute something lets say around the fall, it will be okay because I will editing. You essentially have all summer to capture what you want and decide whether or not you'd like it included.

Its really all up to you guys on how much dedication you want to put into this thing.

Again PM if you are interested on any level in working on this project, just so its easier for me to keep track of everyone.

Ugh, I can't seem to get any video off of my camera. Good thing there are other flighties taking their cameras to L.A.- I don't think mine will be much use at the moment. :-/
