Brand spankin' new here.
Name's Tricia. Most people call me Trish. Those who really know me call me Trashy Trishy. Others just go "
HEY...YOU!"
Almost 36. Married for 14 years. No kids. Live in BumbleF*CK, Wisconsin. It's pretty here. I just miss Chicago (grew up there;
lived there for 30 years). I miss the big city life. I need to go to a museum that is bigger than my kitchen!
I'm a writer (primarily poetry and short stories). I draw and make clay abominations on occassion. I play the drums, guitar, and harmonica. Love to read. Love to take pictures.
I'd write more, but I'm sick right now. Well, I'm sick all the time, but I mean fevers and crap. Plus, I have something called "
Skeeter Syndrome"
. Skeeter Syndrome?! Who the heck comes up with a condition name like that?!
Got bit up by some mosquitoes, the other night. Instead of regular looking bites I've got rashes and bruises from those flitting bastards from Hell. They don't even itch;
they burn and sting. So some "
professional"
decides to downplay it by calling it "
Skeeter Syndrome"
. jerks
I'm done venting...
for now.

Heyyy! Good to have you here!
Did you leave a comment on Rhys Darby's latest blog on myspace, perchance? The one about his Boston show's presale?
I feel like I saw something about BumbleF*CK in there...

Near Minocqua. In the Northwoods.

What made you move to WI?
The hubby and I lived around California and Lincoln before we moved here.
Well, my mom and bro wanted to open an internet cafe up here. My hubby hated his job there. Didn't want to come buuuut since everyone else was leaving...
So here we are.
Don't have the business anymore. The winters here are harsh on ALL businesses. And I became really ill a couple of years ago so I couldn't work for a while. So we just closed the shop.
I'm hoping, one day, to get back to the city, but things are so expensive there. It'd be hard. At least I can visit.

Hey Trish, welcome!
I think it may have been you that I was talking to via the FOTCmb's myspace page a few days ago...? Glad that you decided to join us here... you will have much fun. Probably too much.
I can also relate to the mosquito problem... I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. Mosquitos are nuts here. So much so, that I prefer not to go outside sometimes haha.
Again, glad you joined us here... I'm looking forward to posting with you.

Just use lots of insect repellant. Or blowtorches. That's my next choice. Just scorch the winged devils! Mind you, I should probably stay away from the forest when I do that.

That was probably me. I kinda pop up everywhere. It's a bit freaky.
Saskatchewan. I like saying that. I like to say Chupacabra, too. And abominable.
Thank you!
I'm sure I will have a blast here

I love Wisconsin, but I don't think I could live there because the winters are too hard. I thought Chicago winters were rough!
The city is getting more and more expensive, especially now that Chicago taxes anything and everything imaginable. (A bottled water tax! I know it's to try to cut down on plastic waste, but still, WTF?) If I had a choice I'd move to somewhere that's warmer and has a cheaper cost of living, but there's so much here that it would be very difficult to leave.

Lincoln and California were the streets I lived near in Chicago, before I moved up here. Not IN California.

Hi Trish!!!! Welcome to the board.
You should all move to Seattle where I live. We don't have mosquitos here
I can already tell that your sense of humor will be appreciated here. I have already chuckled a couple of times. It looks like you have a knack for thinking in words as you write, and that is a great gift

Tim! I totally noticed that when we were there... I even packed bug spray just in case... it was rather lovely to be outside, in the woods all day and not be bothered by those little buggers. " title="" border="0"/>
