Do Bret and Jemaine know they're hot?

Do they only pretend, as part of the act, to not know how hot they are?

Do they honestly not think of themselves as hot?

My boyfriend (who is also a fan) thinks they knew exactly what they were doing when they started the duo ... that it was obvious a couple of good-looking guys would get a lot of squealing fans.

attention they get from their lady fans quite well...the are geniouses, suave...they know ;

I think they definitely know they're hot. I think it's terribly amusing that they sometimes seem exasperated with the female attention they get, yet they've added lots of stuff for the ladies to the live shows (the ass-shakin', the banter about their respective kissing styles, the saucy talk about the amount of bj's they get [and then Bret talking about fingerbanging this last time!]) and they write this totally smoking hot new song (I Told You I Was Freaky) that's hilarious and sexy at the same time (the humor makes it even more sexy to me--the contrast). Jemaine especially seems to cultivate his hotness--he dresses so slutty, with his tight pants and low-buttoned shirts and his little ensembles! Guys DO NOT do that on accident. Bret's a bit more low key about it, but when you hear him talk and you see that twinkle in his eye, it's obvious he knows exactly what he's doing too.

I think they're kind of amused and even slightly turned on by our thinking they're hot (esp. Jemaine;
I don't know why, but I've always picked up that his unique beauty wasn't too appreciated by the chicas in his youth). Their biggest struggle is in keeping control of it. They give us more of what we want (sexy them. And why do they do that? Because they're nice? Hmmm...), but at the same time they're in relationships and don't want girls stalking them at home. It's a tough line to walk.

I don't know if they started a band just to score chicks. I'm sure that's always a factor when a group of guys start a band (you know how many of us ladies can't stay away from musicians!), but I don't see them being that calculated about it. I think they just like doing their music and decided to earn a living off of it. But they definitely seem to be enjoying the spoils of that now. At least most of the time anyway. If they're not, well then they just need to STOP playing up the hotness. It's not like they're just pretty;
I think they've got the mad, putrid, manky music and writing chops to still do well.

If Bret didn't know before, he certainly knew after the Figwit phenomenon. How many non-speaking three-second extras have fansites, heck entire fan MOVEMENTS created for them?

Jemaine is not objectively good looking -- I say this as a trueblue Jemaniac -- but his confidence, the way he carries and styles himself, are what make him sixy. You don't radiate that sort of self-assurance unless you are pretty darn convinced of your appeal. Think about it...if you were at ALL self-conscious or in doubt of your looks, would you wander around Bonnaroo in a stretched out t-shirt, stubbies, flipflops, a straw cowboy hat and two days' worth of stubble as he did?

That said, I don't think they were calculating in forming the band. They've been doing this for ten years and just now getting serious fan attention;
that's a long investment for a dry-humped leg and the odd fingerbang. They've also been with their girlfriends for a long time, so they haven't been on hunt for women for a while. I think they genuinely love making the songs and shows, and they have enjoyed playing with their sex appeal as part of their stage personas.

Oh yeah, absolutely.

I also think they're pretty amused by it - not in a cold-blooded sort of way, I just feel like sometimes they must sit back and say, "
Can you believe they're making such a fuss over us? What can we do next to make them REALLY crazy?"


But yes, there's no doubt in my mind they know exactly what they're doing.

Furthermore, i'm going to go out on a limb here, but i even think they enjoy the female attention.

Oh, definitely, Ines. I mentioned it in my post. They wouldn't do all they do if they didn't like it at least a little. I mean, what guy wouldn't??

Yes, of course! But they don't think about it as often as we do . And I'm glad they haven't lost their heads because of that but make fun of this... and us .

I think they're a good example of ugly ducklings, especially Jemaine is the best one. When I look at him in older videos, like Just for Laughs or Figwit document (the white collar ) and last year's image, it's like almost two different guys. Jemaine had to work on it, but poor Bret was struck by it.

Besides, they're KIWIS, they've got it in their genes. I have a Kiwi friend and trust me, he knows what he's doing...

One more thing. If Jemiane wasn't aware of his sexiness, then Oscar, his friend was very helpful with that calling him "
quite a melancholy reflective hot"

I think Jemaine's a good example of how a guy can be... I don't want to say he's weird-looking but, let's face it, if you were to describe him in detail to somebody who'd never seen him before, they'd probably think, "

But what makes him so attractive (to me, at least) is that he's more striking than anything else. There's something incredibly fascinating about the way he looks, the whole package so to speak. And his mannerisms and his sense of style really enhance that unconventional attractiveness. I mean, really, how many men can make one of those stupid cowboy shirts look good? Seriously.
