Tenacious D and FOTC?

Okay- are they taking the piss?

What plans do you have beyond the DVD? Kyle, you’ve suggested that you might be hanging it up to “go out on a high,” but Jack’s been quoted as saying you’ll have an album out in 2012…what’s it to be?

KG: We’d like to get together with Flight of the Conchords and have a rock off for an HBO pay-per-view special.
JB: It’s important to me that music be glorious. And it’s important to me that whatever we do next be glorious. But will it be a tour? Will it be a movie? Will it be a TV show? Or will it just be me and Kyle talking to you? I don’t know.

I've heard fotc being compared to Tenacious D many times but never could understand why. The only similarity they have to each other is that both groups have two members.

Awesome. I just read this before I logged in here. I am a huge D fan, so I would be freakin delighted if this happened.

I like Tenacious D and I love Jack Black but it's no contest. I am actually get quite tired of hearing them compared to each other. They are soooo different.

I sort of get why they are compared to each other, but they really are nothing alike. It was kind of like when critics compared ZRock to FoTC. Apples and oranges.

I agree....nothing alike at all. It gets me wondering though what kind of a collaboration they would make. There music styles are soooo totally polar opposite.

ALSO: I know this is going to sound random, but Jack Black reminds me of Taika (their personas ... not their looks, obviously).

i'd loathe a collaboration. i like one of D's songs...but that's it

I have a friend who looks AND acts just like Jack Black. " title="" border="0"/> He had Nacho Libre as his facebook photo for a little while, and there were all these comments on his wall from friends and family members asking why he was wearing that mask. On that note, I just happened to watch Be Kind Rewind.

That's the only movie of his that I'll watch. Everything is better when Michel Gondry is involved.

I love Jack Black as an actor. I thinks he is soo funny and adorable in a fat boy kind of way....but I don't think I want a collaboration.
