I need your help!

All creative ideas welcome!

I've been mulling it over and over in my brain trying to decide on something to make for Bret and Jemaine for this tour. I'm participating in the quilt, but I want to do more.

I'm pretty good at decoupage and actually had the idea of making collages for them and decopauge them onto something. My dream, absolute dream, would be to decoupage a ukulele for Bret...

But I want something that will travel easily, but I don't want to just do a slab of wood. Kinda boring. I wanted to include pictures from the show, photos of the guys with fans, things that remind me of them, etc. Anyone have any ideas?

I need to get started if I want to finish it in time.

Photo album, maybe?

I actually REALLY like the idea of a decopaged uke!!! I see this in my head as having something like stickers from every city/state they will be playing in this year's tour. You know like an old steamer trunk

I actually have it all worked out now, but I want to share the idea!

I bought two toy, acoustic guitars. I'm covering both with a blue construction paper and adding clouds. I am making construction paper Bret and Jemaine...one guitar for each guy. Both guitars will also have a construction paper robot head and their name on decoupaged as well. And, if I get a change, FOTC along the side.

Granted, now that I have an idea, I have two weeks to get all of this done. . . Here's hoping!

what are you going to use to keep the construction paper on?

I have never used modge podge, but I constantly see it used for projects like the one you are describing. You might want to experiment with that

I'm using something very similar but I have worked with that before. I'm so excited! I'm ready to leave work and go make this happen!

Thanks, guys! I'm going to start on Jemaine tomorrow. And I'll get better photos too. That was taken with my phone.


EDIT: I'm finding Jemaine much more difficult to justify using construction paper. I hope I can make this work.
