My Bret Drawing

Incase you didn't see it in the art thread here is my picture of the Bret-Meister!

I envy anyone who knows their way around Flash. It's a great application if you KNOW HOW TO USE IT! I'm getting familiar with it but it can still be extremely frustrating.

Also I admire your drawing skills. Kudos ^3^

Nope, i'm doing TV production. My flash and animation is kind of my work that is getting me through uni easily, cos i do have some pretty well paid stuff come in to do. But obviously if i like stuff i animate them and draw them without any need for pay, its a hobby before anything else.

Also if anyone is wise in the ways of flash they would notice that i seprate out most of the aspects of bret. Meaning if i wanted, i could use that drawing in an animation at a later date :

Nope, deff wasnt taken negitivly =] Just saying incase there were any big style flashies out there.

I find drawing Bret a lot easier than drawing Jemaine - I've tried loads of times but I just can't physically do it.

Funny you said that...I think Jem is the easy one, pretty much big lips and glasses. Bret is trickier cause he's just normal, has no outstanding feature. (tho yes, a pretty prince of a package). I've noticed in a lot of the fan art that the Jems are pretty close but the Bret's aren't.

Bret's nose almost always gives them trouble. It's crooked and slender with a pointy tip and huge nostrils. I think the nostrils trip them up the most.

Well i hope my drawing is ok! So much talk of where everyone is tripping up is making me worried that mine serves as a list of them! :S

Do you think these nostrils trip me up? I think I'm nearly there with the nostrils although the left side of the nose is a bit weird. The main thing I'm struggling with on this one though is the skin tone.

Both of yas, iwish and rory are doing incredible jobs. Iwish, there is something so compelling about those magenta circle cheeks of Bret's. Kinda looks like a clown, but in a good way (!). Love your video rory, and didn't you put your website link somewhere? I think I remember going on it and being blown away. Or maybe hearing Prince of Parties gave me some kinda acid flashback and I halucinated it...Anyhow, if there was a link, could ya post it again??? And are you named after Rory Gallager (sp)??

thanks tanfastic - I always have a compulsion to put rosy cheeks on everyone I draw, even if they are almost opaque and actually daring to exist beyond the boundaries of the face.

YES!!! I have the hardest time drawing Bret because his features aren't like anybody else that I draw, and he has that tiny little elf nose with the enormous nostrils...
